A brand identity design project for a contemporary Mid-Autumn Festival campaign. The goal was to reinterpret the traditional holiday through a refined, modern lens while preserving the emotional warmth and nostalgic atmosphere associated with family gatherings and cultural rituals.

Timeless Visual Stories for Legendary Brands

Mid-Autumn Festival visuals often rely on traditional motifs that can feel distant to younger and global audiences. The challenge was to preserve the emotional essence of reunion and nostalgia while reimagining the festival through a modern, minimal visual language.

The process focused on core themes such as moonlight, reflection, and togetherness rather than literal cultural symbols. Mood boards and color studies explored atmosphere through soft gradients, circular forms, and light-inspired compositions. Contemporary packaging references guided the direction toward simplicity, elegance, and emotional clarity.
The final Moonlight identity centers on a refined visual system built through minimal forms, balanced warm and cool tones, and a contemporary graphic language. The design extends across logo, packaging, and posters, creating a calm yet festive atmosphere that feels both timeless and accessible to a global audience.
This project taught the importance of balancing cultural authenticity with modern aesthetics. It revealed how atmosphere and emotion can communicate tradition more effectively than literal symbols. It also strengthened sensitivity toward color and spatial design, enabling cultural narratives to feel more contemporary and emotionally resonant.
